(1939-2019)┘My work became a bridge that had to be crossed by young feminists working with their bodies. ┌

Pioneering American artist, feminist, and filmmaker Carolee Schneemann, is known for her multidisciplinary practice: painting, photography, performance art and installation work. NOWNESS presents her last recorded interview, this intimate profile by director Clara Cullen made earlier this year, as part of our Raw Materials series and commissioned for International Women's Day, which shows the true art legend discussing her process and the inspiration behind her work.
Fuses by Carolee Schneemann
